Orthopaedic training at the Orthopaedic University Hospital in Bern/Switzerland.

1988-1990:

Trauma surgery training in St. Vincenz & Elizabeth Hospital, Mainz (Prof. P. Kirschner); establishment of the first shoulder outpatient clinic in the Rhine/Main area.

1990:

Period of several months with the Shoulder Service at the orthopaedic University Hospital of San Antonio/Texas, USA (Prof. CA Rockwood, Jr.); subsequent repeated stays abroad and training programmes at highly respected international shoulder centres (e.g. Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail/Colorado, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Van Nuys, Birmingham, Washington).

1990-1993:

Further shoulder-specific qualifications and specialist knee training at the Basel-Bruderholz Cantonal Hospital/Switzerland (Prof. W. Müller)

1993-1997:

Consultant specialising in shoulder problems at the Stuttgart Sports Clinic (Prof. P. Habermeyer)

1997:

Head of the newly founded Department of Shoulder Surgery and Sports Traumatology at the Sports Medicine Institute in Frankfurt am Main.

2000:

Centre for Shoulder Surgery and Sports Traumatology in Frankfurt am Main/Hofheim

2001-2008:

Consulting specialist in shoulder surgery in the newly founded 2000 Clinic in Freiburg.

2004-2006:

Founding of the Department of Shoulder Surgery and consulting at the Alphaklinik in Munich.

2008:

Founding of the internationally focused Athletikum Group. Interdisciplinary collaboration with various specialists lies at the heart of the Athletikum Group’s international focus.

2009:

Founding of the Athletikum Group in Freiburg. Cooperation with Dr. Anton Sebesta, Birshof Sports Clinic near Basel (Hirslanden Hospitals Group).
