Hip pain - Dr. Michael Lehmann
Causes of hip pain
Hip pain can be caused by a wide variety of different things that can affect the entire body, but in particular the musculoskeletal system.
Diseases of or changes to the lumbar spine, the iliosacral joint, the pelvis, the femur or even the knee joints and feet can trigger hip pain. The most common causes of pain in the hip, however, are wear and tear of the joint.
Tears in the labrum, resulting for example from a fall onto the hip joint or caused by wear and tear, can produce considerable pain in the hip and/or groin region.
